History of The Baalbek City Lebanon

Baalbek is an ancient city of the Lebanon. Its ruins still testify to its greatness and glory. It is 1150 meters above sea level. Baalbek Queen Bilqis was given the right to seal. Solomon's palace was also here.

Baal was the idol of the nation of Elijah (Hazrat Elias P.B.U.H), whom they worshiped. And this city was named after the same idol. That is why the Greeks called this city Heliopolis. The city was very important in Roman times. The Roman ruler Augustus made it a colony. 549 AH, in 1154, Sultan Nur al-Din Zangi conquered it. And in the earthquake of 564 AH 1170, this city was destroyed. It was then rebuilt, and today it is one of the most important cities in Lebanon.
